Last Day to Pay Taxes
When:Taxes Become Due July 1, 2026
If you do not receive a bill and think that you should, please contact the Tax Office as soon as possible. Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or any penalties accrued per Sec. 12-130 of the Connecticut General Statute.
Tax bills for the Town of Woodbury will be mailed at the end of June.
Real estate bills under $100, personal property bills under $100, and motor vehicle tax bills become due in full on July 1, 2026, payable by August 3, 2026. After the last day to pay of August 3, 2026, interest at a rate of 1.5% per month back to the original due date of July 1, 2026 will be applied on all delinquent tax balances, per Sec. 12-146 of the Connecticut General Statutes. Minimum interest per account is $2.00. Payments must be received or be postmarked (USPS postmark) by August 3, 2026 to be considered on time.
Payment may be made in person, mailed in the lockbox envelope provided, or mailed to the attention of the Tax Collector, 281 Main Street South, Woodbury, CT 06798. Please include all bill copies along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope should a receipt be desired. Bills may also be paid online at woodburyct.org (service fees apply).
The second installment of real estate and personal property bills over $100 become due January 1, 2027, payable by February 1, 2027. No additional bill will be mailed for the second installment.
Motor vehicle tax bills due July 1, 2026 will be generated for vehicles registered/residing in the Town of Woodbury on October 1, 2025. Vehicles registered after that date, and by September 30, 2026, will be billed as a supplemental motor vehicle in January 2027. If you no longer own a vehicle, please contact the Assessor’s office prior to payment.
