Pomperaug Valley Garden Club
When:“Gardening is Murder” with author Neal Sanders
to be Topic of November 14 Pomperaug Valley Garden Club Program in Woodbury
The Pomperaug Valley Garden Club is delighted to present Neal Sanders, author of The Garden Club Gang mysteries, who will tell us why “Gardening is Murder” on Tuesday November 14, 2023, at 11 am at the Woodbury Emergency Services Building, 25 Quassuk Road, Woodbury, CT. Guests are welcome to join us for a $5 donation. Refreshments will be served.
Why is so much gardening information on the internet so awful? Why is it impossible to do just one thing in the garden? Why should you never compute the value of your labor when you garden? Why do we have garden benches even though we never sit in them?
These are the questions that keep Neal Sanders awake at night. As the spouse of an avid and accomplished gardener with no ‘real’ responsibilities other than to dig holes and move rocks, Neal has lots of time to observe gardeners and their foibles. Full of humorous observations that all gardeners will relate to, this talk will be unlike any gardening lecture you’ve ever heard!
Neal is the author of 15 mysteries, many of which use garden club or horticultural settings and all of which feature strong, independent women. He also writes “The Principal Undergardener” blog, which addresses gardening as a non-gardener who loves gardens. He will be selling signed copies of his books following the presentation.
The Pomperaug Valley Garden Club, founded in 1927, is a charter member of the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc. and a member of National Garden Clubs. The club sponsors speakers at monthly meetings, garden-oriented field trips, numerous civic beautification and educational outreach projects in Woodbury, and a scholarship program.
