The Woman's Club of Woodbury

Founded in 1896, the Woman's Club of Woodbury has a long history of service and community involvement. In 1897, the Club became a charter member of the women's clubs of Connecticut incorporation into the General Federation of Women's Clubs, the largest women's volunteer organization in the world.


The Club's purpose is to serve others and support community needs. Members raise money through Club events and volunteer their time, talents, and services to local organizations. The organizations supported by the Woman's Club of Woodbury include the Community Services Council, Woodbury Library, Woodbury Community Senior Center, Community Theater at Woodbury, the historic Glebe and Hurd Homesites, Woodbury Fire Department, Safe Haven, and Jane Doe No More. The Club also provides annual scholarships to Nonnewaug High School seniors and to an adult woman pursuing higher education.

After each monthly meeting, the Club's program committee sponsors a guest speaker. These speaker presentations are free and open to the public.


The Woman's Club of Woodbury welcomes women of all ages who want to share their time and talents in support of the community. Members do not need to be Woodbury residents. Meetings are held at 11 a.m. on the first Monday of each month from September through December and February through April. Meetings take place at the Orenaug Fire Department on Quassuk Road in Woodbury. Members may participate in a day or evening book club and in group outings, activities, and events.
