Marriage License Application

 
In order to obtain your marriage license you must be having the ceremony in Woodbury. 
The cost for the marriage license is $50.00 (payable at time of appointment)  cash or check, and $20.00 for each certified copy of the license to be obtained post ceremony.
You must supply the name address and telephone number of the official performing the ceremony.

 

EFFECTIVE DATE: OCTOBER 1, 2026 - Public Act 26-141, Sections 6 and Section 7 Updates Connecticut General Statute Section 46b-24 and 46b-25.

 

  1. There is a minimum 48 hour waiting period from the time the marriage license application is completed in the town where the wedding ceremony will take place, before the marriage license can be issued.    

 

2.  The license is valid for sixty-five (65) days from the date the license is issued

 

Once you have completed your application, please email a copy to Town Clerk Maria Mancini at mmancini@woodburyct.org  (for security purposes do NOT fill in Social Security Number when emailing application) and call 203-263-2144 to schedule an appointment.
Both parties must appear in person and must bring a valid government issued photo identification (drivers license or passport).

Marriage Licenses are by appointment only.  Twenty-four (24) hour notice is required, and only one license per appointment.  All marriage license worksheets must be filled out prior to the appointment.
