Dog Licensing
Per CT General Statute Sec.22-338, all dogs over the age of 6 months must be licensed. Dog licenses are available at the
Town Clerk annually beginning June 1st The license is valid from July 1st through June 30th.
Licenses will not be issued without proof of current rabies vaccination,
and must not expire before the new licensing period begins (July 1st - June 30th).
When licensing a dog for the first time, please provide proof that the dog has been neutered or spayed.
The license fee for a neutered/spayed dog is $8.00; the fee for an unaltered dog is $19.00.
There is a $1.00 late fee per month after June 30th.
Cash or Checks only. Pay in person Monday - Friday 8AM - 4PM.
If paying by mail please send self-addressed stamped envelope along
with current Rabies & Spay/Neuter Certificates to:
Town Clerk’s Office, 281 Main St So., Woodbury, Ct 06798.
Checks should be made payable to Town Clerk, Woodbury.
If you move to Woodbury from another Connecticut Town, and your dog was already licensed in the other Town
for the current year, bring the license and tag from the other Town to the Woodbury Town Clerk’s office,
and you will be issued a new license and tag for the same licensing period for the Town of Woodbury for a fee of $0.50.
If you lose your current tag, it can be replaced for a fee of $0.50.
