Woodbury Democratic Town Committee
Members of the Woodbury Democratic Town Committee (WDTC) are elected to two-year terms at a biannual caucus of town Democrats. Registered Democratic residents of the town of Woodbury are eligible for membership on the WDTC, which consists of 18 members and 6 alternates. Those elected or appointed to town offices, boards, and commissions are ex-officio, non-voting members of the Committee.
The mission of the DTC is to seek out and support qualified Democratic candidates for local office; to improve communication about matters of importance concerning Woodbury; to increase community involvement; to provide a forum for the constructive exchange of ideas, opinions, and information; to encourage civic involvement of high school students by sponsoring an annual trip to Washington DC; and to promote and support the state and national Democratic Party.
The Woodbury Democratic Town Committee sponsors or participates in a variety of community-wide programs, including the Woodbury Scholarship Fund (Ella Grasso Scholarship), Adopt-a-Road Cleanup, speakers' forums, the Memorial Day Parade, and an annual Family Picnic in Hollow Park.
