Voting is one of the key cornerstones of the United States’ democratic process. Our elected representatives are in office to represent our interests and reflect our values. It is important to understand the candidates’ positions as these positions can and do affect your lives in the policies they enact and the taxes they levy. Your vote tells the elected officials where you stand and if you feel the elected official does not support your interests, then you can use your vote to remove them from their position.
When is the next election event?
A General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Scroll down for more information on that event.
On August 11 there will be Republican and Democrat Primaries. Only registered Republicans and Democrats may vote in their respective primaries.
There are three ways to vote:
- in person at your polling place,
- by absentee ballot,
- or early voting at Senior/Community Center (265 Main Street South, Woodbury CT 06798)

You can register to vote online at https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do or call the Registrars of Voters at 203-263-4750 to have a registration form sent to you.

The Registrars of Voters do not issue Absentee Ballots. If you have questions about the absentee ballot process, call the Town Clerk at 203-263-2144, or click here to contact the Town Clerk's Office. While the Registrars count the ballots on Election Day, the process of applying for, receiving, and returning completed absentee ballots is under the jurisdiction of the Town Clerk. Same Day Voter Registration - In Case You Miss the Deadline
If you are not yet registered, but want to vote during the Early Voting period, you may register in person every day of Early Voting at the Early Voting location (Greenwich Town Hall). This is called Same Day Registration.
If you are not registered, but want to vote on Election Day, you may register in person on Election Day at a special Same Day Registration location (Woodbury Town Hall-Shove Conference Room-281 Main Street South in Woodbury, CT 06798).

About the Registrars of Voters Office
The office of the Registrars of Voters is governed by Connecticut State Statutes. The primary duties of the Registrars are to register new voters, maintain voter registration records and enrollment records, publish lists of eligible voters, conduct a state-required canvass of all voters, compile monthly reports of all activities concerning voters in town, and administer and oversee all elections, primaries and referenda in an accurate and impartial manner. They are also responsible for hiring and training over 150 official poll workers as well as maintaining all voting equipment used for the election.

Voters Office is a vital department to the function of the Town’s government.
The Office is governed by Connecticut General Statutes and financially
supported by the Municipality. Ensuring fair, accurate and efficient elections
is our highest priority.
Registration Requirements
To register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the town in which you wish to vote and at least 17 years of age and turning 18 on or before election day
EVERY VOTE COUNTS.
