WOODBURY PEOPLE OF FAITH (POF)
In the spring of 1999 the eight houses of worship in the greater Woodbury area joined together to create "Woodbury People of Faith". This is an interfaith effort to provide opportunities for better understanding, a common witness to our community and to host interfaith events for the people of the Woodbury area.

The following congregations make up People of Faith:

The planning of programs and interfaith projects is done by the local clergy and a steering committee composed of representatives of all the participating congregations. Since its formation Woodbury People of Faith has sponsored very successful food collections in support of the local food bank, an ongoing pulpit exchange which allows the clergy to visit houses of worship other than their own and a series of "open houses" hosted by each congregation. We have also supported local clergy in organizing special events such as the community memorial service following the attacks on September 11 th and National Day of Prayer services.

In 2005 Woodbury People of Faith joined with the First Congregational Church in hosting an ecumenical "Summit" engaging people in our area with scholars from Hartford Theological Seminary as we dealt with the theme "Religion, Source of Conflict, Source of Hope". Additional events in 2005 were the sponsorship of a Block Party, which all congregations had a booth on Main Street during the event, and a Crop Walk, which all congregations sponsored walkers from their congregations. Some of the proceeds from the Crop Walk were given to GWIM (Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministry's and the Woodbury Community Services Council.

2006 Woodbury People of Faith projects planned are as follows:
