Clubs & Organizations

Guiding Eyes for the Blind (GEB) is excited to announce the opening of its' 5th puppy raising region in CT! The new region will encompass the Central Western part of the state. We are looking for volunteers to join our new region and raise future guide dogs. Puppy Raisers provide love, socialization and basic obedience for a puppy from 8 weeks of age until the dog progresses to formal guide dog training at about 16-18 months of age. Guiding Eyes provides regular training classes, and covers necessary veterinary expenses. Puppy Raisers fill a vital role in developing a dog's full potential, and take great pride in knowing they assisted in bringing independence to people without sight. Starting in May GEB's new region will hold classes on Thursday evenings at the First Congregational Church in Woodbury. For more information about the Puppy Raising Program or other volunteer opportunities, please contact us at 1-(866) GEB LABS (1-866-432-5227) or visit www.guidingeyesbcweb.org.

The teams are comprised of 10 to 15 people who may be relatives or neighbors, and are often connected through work, church, synagogue, school or civic organizations.
